My name is Nicole Weskerna and I am a general reporter for the Robinson Daily News in Robinson, Ill., a 6,100-circulation newspaper covering Crawford County. As a general reporter, I write hard-news and feature stories, cover higher education and local schools as well as government, take photos, and post photo galleries and other content on the Web. I am also responsible for covering the police and court beats, designing pages and editing copy.

I was active on the school's newspaper, the Daily Eastern News, putting in several semesters as a reporter, photographer, designer and editor. I helped lead the website to win its second Pacemaker award in row as online editor from 2008 to 2009.

I am a 2009 graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism.
